Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja was on Sunday detained for questioning at a suburban police station in Mumbai after his domestic help alleged that he had raped her.
"The domestic help, who has been working at Ahuja's residence in suburban Oshiwara, alleged that the actor had raped her on Sunday afternoon," Deputy Commissioner of Police Niket Kaushik told PTI.
"We have registered a FIR and called Ahuja to the police station for questioning in the matter to verify the facts," he said.
The house maid in her complaint has alleged that Ahuja raped her at his residence when they were alone, Kaushik said.
Police claim Shiney has admitted to having a physical relationship with his domestic help.The victim was employed at Ahuja’s home for the past one and a half month.
The actor was produced in Andheri court. He has been booked for rape under Section 376 and also charged under Section 339 for wrongful restraint and Section 506 for threatening another person.
The preliminary medical report of the 18-year-old victim reportedly suggest that she was sexually abused. Ahuja has also been sent for medical examination.
During interrogation, Shiney reportedly confessed to having consensual sex with his maid.
Meanwhile, Shiney's family is firmly standing behind him. His cousin says that he (Shiney) is a man of character and that he is innocent.

Ahuja is the son of an Army commander and is married to Anupam Ahuja. They have a two-year-old daughter.
Ahuja is appreciated for his roles in films like Hazaron Khwaishe Aisi, Gangster,Life in a metro and many more.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Sheena it is merely a publicity stunt.. even if it is truth, next thing will be money power playing its role.. the case will be withdrawn soon / out of court adjustments as usual.. & Shiney will come out as a clean chit.. First release post incident will be a hit

ReplyDeleteWell I was just going thru other articles placed over net and newspaper. He has admitted that he had had consensual sex with her maid... Well I can't guess what's going on behind his mind... he's a well known celebrity and what example he setting b4 the soecity.... Even if he had the consensual sex with her maid, does this mean he should be forgiven... what about the adultry... Anyways in India money plays a vital role everywhere... Might be he is framed, might be he is guilty... Facts can always be manipulated. Truth is between Ahuja, her Maid & God...
